So yeah, it set too long. My 5.4L 3V seems to be siezed up. So combined with the issues of the VCT system bing a dud. I am wondering if there are any rebuilders out there that are building engines...

It's not just the 5.4 3V. My brother in law has an otherwise beautiful Grand Marquis with the 3v 4.6L. Same issues my 5.4 has. Phaser knock, oiling issue.

Not sure what that part is, I am about to do the same job. I wouldn't put the original guides or tensioners back in since you went to the trouble of tearing it down, do it right and freshen it up!
