I believe the valve cover changed on the 07 or 08 trucks so you have to remove the valve cover to replace the VCT solenoid. They must have used a newer style engine when they replaced it.

Short of SC or turbo, a tuner with custom tunes is going to be your best bang for the $. MGD laid down some good advice about tuners. Once you go tuned you don't go back:thumbsup:

Without a picture hard to tell but sounds like an evap hose. Tasca parts usually has good diagrams for figuring out the correct part.(should be cheaper than your dealer also)

For a dealer to change cam phasers plan on $1200 - $1800 or more depending on your location. I would get a a good diagnosis before dropping that kind of money to throw parts at it.

Usually the metal doesn't break off, it just just breaks on one side where the porcelain pushed down but stays connected to the plug. So my comment would be..are you sure the ground strap broke off...
