If you love the stereotypical diesel, "big loud, smelly, black smoke poofing" as nards calls it lol, stick with the 7.3L. You can't go wrong with the 7.3L. Best diesel motor built if you ask me....

Yea. The only reason I found it was because I could smell burning oil. It drove just like any other day. If it hadn't of been for the smell there's no telling when I would have found it.

I didn't do the plugs and coils and I know the hole wasn't there before. No pry bar was used to get the pump out. Nothing touched the cover let alone hit it hard enough to knock a chunk out of it....

That makes it seem a little less bad I suppose. Finally got my power steering pump changed.....will never do it again. I think I'd rather go without it than Goin through that mess again lol
