Starmate in 2001 SuperCrew
I searched 16 pages of Sirius stuff and I could not find what I was looking for.
I got a Starmate 4 for XMas and I want to hardwire it to my stereo for the best sound guality. I do not have the AUX button, What do I need and how easy is it or should I take it in. I am very mechanically inclined so I have confidence to do it I am just not sure what method gives me the best quality of sound.
PS I still have the stock stereo.
Thanks, Marty

Might not be a bad idea to hard wire the power to the truck so you don't have to use a 12v plug, the cig lighter one but that's about it. Pop out the stereo, get a FM direct adapter and you'll be hearing great sound. That's what I did with my starmate 4. All it does is plug into your radio's antenna, the antenna plus into it (little black box) and it plugs into the back of your starmate where that goofy little wire goes. It's a nice way to go and if you subscribe you can get this adapter free. It's available on www.siriusradio.com/optimize I'm certain.
