Starmate 4 to Pioneer HU IP BUS question
Is this what I need to connect my starmate 4 to my Pioneer dehp-880prs..
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...F8&me=&seller= I looked everywhere for Pioneer to Sirius IP BUS cables and maybe the pics were screwed up but it never seemed to look right. This link looks like what I'd need. I was going to go the route of FM direct connector and did in my truck, but wanted to try this way out too. |
Yes, as long as your pioneer is not 10 years old it should work just fine, it will plug into the back of the radio and then the 3.5mm jack will run directly into the Audio output on the dock of the starmate 4. Once it is plugged it should become a source but if it doesn't its just something that needs to be turned on in the settings..
This way is easier to install and easier to use because you dont mess with radio stations like with the FM Direct, but the sound quality should be close to the same, if not a little better with the IP-Bus piece. |
There is another idea. Take the Pioneer Sirius direct piece PIO CD-SB10 and add the sirius dock to that (DEI SCVDOC1). You will be able to operate the starmate via the Pioneer and also be able to take the Starmate with you.

Wow, alright.. Had no clue you could do that. What connects the Pioneer CD-SB10 to the starmate or external unit. Im a little confused?!? All that comes with the Pioneer piece is the ip bus cable, the module, and the power supply, what am I missing?

The other pieces come with the SCVDOC1.

Thanks guys, just wanted to make sure. The Pioneer unit is brand new, probably only been out 3 yrs or so too. I'll give it a spin.
