Check the channel lineups for each and see which is more to your liking. The major differences are the sports packages, Stern, and talk shows. If you are looking for a certain genre of music, tell us -- someone will chime in on how well either of them support that genre.
Someone will also mention that the services have merged (true). However, the current receivers are not inter-operable (i.e. an XM receiver can not receive Sirius signals). They will offer ala-carte packages, but that, from what I hear, will also require a new receiver.

that's because they're doing away with XM now that the merger finally got okayed. it'll all be under the Sirius name soon.

i understand that after the merger is completed that the same programing will be available on either receiver. they will then have packages to pick from, much like the cable companies. so instead of one price and you get all of the sirius you will need to upgrade to get something you may want

No, it won't, as far as all existing receivers are concerned, only the original programming service plus a small portion of the other's will be available. You will have to wait for new interoperable receivers in order to get everything or to make ala carte selections.
The merger is already completed. Integration of the two operations will still take awhile. Existing customers won't see much difference for a few months, at the earliest. After that, you still won't see a great deal of difference in your service if you do nothing with your subscription.

I purchased a Sirius Stilleto 12 months ago with the "Lifetime" fee option.
I'm curious about one thing with regards to the merger...
You know how the lifetime subscription is good for 3 hardware changes, so I'm curious if and when a receiver becomes available to pick up the new "merged" channels; will they count that hardware swap as using up one of your allotments.
Know what I mean?
Any of you guys hear anything?
And to the OP, sorry, I can't say which is better because this is the only one i've ever had, but I am very satisfied with it.

I am well satisified with my Sirius. I had renewed for a year in June 08 for my subscription in my Ford Edge. Couple weeks ago I traded the Edge for my 2008 Ford F-150. It has Sirius free for 6 month's. I called Sirius and told them about my trading for the F-150. They were very nice and said they would put my Ford Edge account on inactive list for the time being and 2 or 3 days before the time trial runs out on the F-150 or when I get the renewal notice, to call them and they would reactivate and transfer the old Edge account to the F-150, so I would not loose any money I had renewed for the Edge and that there would not be an activation fee for the truck.
