2006 XLT Satellite ready?

I have a 2006 F150 XLT. Has the single CD head unit with an Aux button. Does anyone know if this is satellite ready? I am guessing yes since it has the aux button. I'm looking to add XM. Thanks.

I'm in the same boat with a 2007 although I'm looking to add Sirius. Is there a link to how this could be accomplished?

If your 07 didnt come with the tuner you can buy a takeout unit from someone. I got mine off ebay and came with the antenna. Do a search using my username in this section. We figured out the install on our own. This makes a clean factory like install. You can also go aftermarket.

It should be if you have the AUX button on your factory unit

Just to get this straight...

For my 07 with the AUX button, all I need is a Sirius Tuner and an antenna. The tuner I might be able to find off ebay. The antenna is the basic antenna you get with a Sirius radio which I already have. I guess I DON'T need the harness because its already there behind the dash, right?

All I need is to remove part of the dash around the radio, remove the head unit, attach the tuner to the existing harness, secure it, and run the antenna up to a good location where it can receive a signal, place the factory radio back into the dash, button up the dash, and then listen to Howard Stern. Sound about right?

Is it difficult to get behind the radio? Any tricks?

You do not have to remove the HU. Do not remove anything from the HU. Open the dash..find the plug for the tuner..connect tuner to it....run antenna....button it up and enjoy.

jdawg-motorsports is the seller I got my tuner from on ebay.

The trim around the HU pops off and gives you access to the radio and the brackets below it for the tuner. All I can tell ya is be careful its plastic but it will come off. When you have it loose unplug the cig lighter and the airbag light.

Hillbilly, while I got ya. Do you know if there are other tuners out there that can be purchased other than the ford tuners you find ebay? Is there a company that makes tuners that can be installed after the fact?

Thanks, and one last question. Where are you mounting the antenna? I'd like to keep it as inconspicuous as possible but I'm afraid that will deter from the signal strength. Any suggestions?
