Dealer service gone bad?

I spent 60k+ on a truck with the best factory warranty ford offers and in return I got a 10 year old to do a factory recall repair and ended up with more cabin noise and a ****ty repair job. I wish I never took it in for the recall issues.

Cabin noise was increased after dealer recall issue was “fixed”

Is this right? Dealer service to repair a recall issue?

Unbelievable low quality service from dealer in San Diego

I would call Ford ASAP. Show them the pictures. Then have the original dealer make it right, or see if Ford can push it to another dealer.

Either way, that is terrible!

That is the factory fix according to dealer.

The dealer stated that was the factory fix but we will try to clean it up a little bit. Can’t belive something like that is a factory fix. That fix looks ghetto to me.

I just got my notice that the parts are available in Southern ROC. Is that for the door latch issue, or wind noise?

Thanks.

Door latch issue

They say water can get down into the lock mechanism and freeze and then you won’t be able to open the door. I live and work in Southern California I really don’t think that would be a issue here

Me too. Options are don't do it, and get stuck in the Sierra's, or get gooped like you.
The recall talks about the "frozen door latch or bent or kinked cable" being possible causes for the repair. "Water shield" installation and fix any latch issues.
Worst case scenario is the door could open while driving. I guess I'll make an appointment. Hopefully the shop I take it to wipes the bead of caulking into the gap better?
