Warranty Question

I have a 2010 F-150 and was going to do oil changes myself. Want to run synthetic and would be less expensive for me to do it. Does this affect the warranty in any way, not getting the work done by a shop?

Thanks

No, as long as:

1. You keep receipts for the oil and filter, annotated with date and mileage.
2. You use the factory recommended weight and spec oil (5W-20 that meets Ford 930 spec).
3. You do not exceed recommended oil change intervals.

Advice: Do not use a Fram oil filter. If you do not use a Motorcraft filter, use a premium filter recommended for synthetics such as a Mobil 1, K&N, or Amsoil.

x2... just document what you do, do it with the right stuff and on schedule and you will be fine.

With that said, I'd recommend you have the dealer do the first oil change. Bubba the gorilla is still installing the oil filters at the factory and isn't using any oil on the gasket, let them struggle with getting it off.
