raced a tundra
Wow, got beside of an older gentleman on the interstate today and i could tell he was proud of his new tundra so we kicked and he blew by me. that thing was fast!

Sorry to hear that.
The fact of the matter is an F150 with bolt-ons is going to have a tough time with those trucks. 381 hp, 6 speed tranny, and 4.30 gears are hard to beat with 260hp to 300 hp, 4 speed tanny, and 3.55 to 3.73 gears. Maybe we'll have something for them in 09. |
sorry to hear that, they are fast, but I can get 1/2 a length on them the whole time to 100

Don't feel to bad, he drives a Toyota. The damn thing looks like a fat Yaris or whatever that things called. Remember these words " There is Ford and then there's can't afford". Go buy a few mods with the money you've saved and beat the homo then. I don't like off shore brands, can't you tell. Chev's will beat them to carry the domestic flag.

I can't wait untill I catch some proud tundra owner at a stoplight
|
I saw a four door run a 16.75 at the track. That is a very good time considering our high temps, elevation, and 91 oct gas. The funny part was that the driver had obviously never been to the track before. He pulled up past the beams, till he found a spot he liked, power braked , and waited....a long time. The starter finally showed him where to stage.

I've seen online that the new 5.7L Tundras are supposedly in the high 14's in the 1/4 mile, which is fast for a stock N/A truck.
Well, at least I still have one vehicle that can beat them :) |

https://www.f150online.com/galleries...958-200140.jpg Put one of these in a 64 Galaxie I'm restoring. My old truck tows this whenever it needs to go to a shop during it's restoration and hauls all kinda nice go fast crap that I buy for it. Hell, I've gotten in enough trouble with my truck as fast as it is, or isn't, but I love best is STILL getting complimented on it. I don't see people geeked over Jap trucks. |
I traded a tundra for my F-150,Quite a few things I miss about the Tundra-Quality,speed,resale value.I did have to buy a programmer for the F-150 for it to even be usable as a truck-Now the F-150 does ok.The people that I know that own the new Tundras have nothing but good things to say about them-The way they came from an American Factory-But they sure are pricey.

I sure would love to get beside a new Tundra at a light some night.
Good news is.. my co-worker's cousin has a new Tundra regular cab. He's spouting off at the mouth saying it will SMOKE a Ford Lightning. Long story short... we have a race set at the nearest dragstrip for $100. LOL More mod money. |
