Question for Webmaster

If someone posts something in a discussion thread that I do not agree with or that I personally don't like, for whatever reason, can I have you delete the thread?

It appears that moderators use their power to delete any post that they do not personally like and I, as a member, would like this same right.

If the post contains foul language, derogatory remarks against a person or their religious beliefs and/or sexual orientation I don't have a problem with it being removed.

If the thread is "off topic" then it should be moved to the General Discussions area not deleted.

I don't have an answer for you but, I'd assume that you'd get a faster response by posting this thread in the 'WEBSITE QUESTIONS' forum.

Good luck.

Interesting observation, but very incorrect. Threads are deleted as a last resort when they violate our terms of service. If you fear that something you post will anger them or insult them, don't post it. If you would like to re-read our terms of service, there is a link at the bottom of every forum page.

I remember awhile back we had a goofball w/Church in his ID - he was foul mouthed, vulgar & the MOST inflammatory poster I have ever seen ANYWHERE! I alerted Steve to the problem posts & the member was banned - an action that Steve does not do lightly but only in extreme circumstances (I'm proof of this - I am still here no matter how much I annoy Steve! LOL!)
I don't see many offensive posts but the few I have seen I report using the link at the bottom of each post window.
The only member I saw here who I'd like to see banned is that Chevy guy but I can ignore him as easily as report him. When I think about it, I think being ignored is MORE aggravating for a poster than being banned! LOL! If he should persist in his juvenile remarks I guess I can always go to his Chevy Forum & embarass him there. I ALMOST posted a challenge to him here but decided 1) Steve doesn't need the headaches 2) I am more mature that that 3) I'd prove litlle by challenging/besting a Chevy.
I chose to not post it after all.
I think we all have a responsibility to alert Steve &/or the moderators when an offensive/troublesome post crops up so they can deal with it appropriately. Just use the link & it will be dealt with as best fits the offense. Our moderators DO listen/respond to us - trust me, I know.
