Question For Steve...
Steve:
First off, let me say thanks for hosting this site. Simply put, it kicks a$$. Would you be willing to share a little info on the hardware / software platforms that makes this place happen? I install and configure servers with SQL 2000 and Win2K Server quite often, with RAID 5 arrays, DLT back-up, etc. and am just curious as to what you are running. Also, please post if you are in need of a particular piece of hardware. I have lots of parts and such at my disposal and would be willing to contribute new parts as well. Thanks again... :bows: B-Man |
Im Clearly not Steve BUT he has been away form the PC for a few days.
Thanks for the Compliments. I know Steve works hard to bring a resource like this to the public This server is running on a Linux box, with MySQL as the database. The VAST majority of the domains on the internet are running on linux. Steve may provide more details later. Doug Moderator |
Hey there from a Starbucks T-Mobile Hotspot in Connecticut...
The server is a generic dual processor PIII 933 with 1GB of RAM and dual 10k 36GB RAID 1 drives. Like Doug said, it run Linux and a variety of open-source (Apache, PHP, MySQL) applications and a commercial (ColdFusion) application server. |
