Wheel hop, what to do

My boss and i had a little race out of the parking lot today, when i slammed it into 2nd he said he looked in his mirror (yah, got smoked by a V6, sprocket can relate) and my rear tires were like 6" off the ground! thats just what he said, but either way my tires were just chirping like crazy from the wheel hop, its totally uncontrolable. other than ditching my 5" worth of blocks and getting lift springs which still wont totally cure it, what can i do. the obvious choice is traction bars, but there has to be more out there.

Traction bars are the best choice since the hopping is caused by the axle and suspension twisting up. I'd get the lift springs too, i don't like to go more than 2" on lift blocks.

You could have added 1 or 2 leafs, but it would had made the suspension stiffer, they way you have it now..it's way soft...try doing that on sand, and you'll be bouncing like a ball

I like it soft, i dont haul anything heavy, so I like the nice ride. ive even considered taking my "diving boards" off. Anyway, I talked to a friend of mine at a metal fab shop, and he is going to build me a set of ladder type traction bars, heim joints and everything.

Take a look at the bars I have on my truck....

They are Rancho's. You can get them for around 250 to 300.
I got them from Mark at http://www.lightningforceperformance.com/

They ellimate ALL wheel hop.

if you go with a set of ladder bars, you will need some sort of slide system for them. There is a conflict in the vertical way a leaf spring operates and the arc way the ladder bars operate. The combination of the two make for a near solid feeling ride.

Making some sort of slide mechanism defeats the purpose of the bars.

If you dont have exxisive amounts of travel in the suspension there wont be a problem. My truck rides the same with the bars on there. And the bars have no affect on travel either.

As far as the girl in the pic.... Thats my girlfriend.
Make me an offer and ill give her to ya....

well, I do kind of have excessive amounts of travel, but im not concerned about using it. I read on a diesel site, a guy had got them on his dodge and said it rode better, it took away that kind of jiggle you feel when you hit bumps in the road. I think the only way to eliminate wheel hop and have real 4x4 capabilities is to have a 4 link or something along those lines.

oh yah, the shipping costs on your girlfriend would probably kill the deal
