1991 351 V8 4WD Auto stalls as soon as put in gear

The engine runs well in park. Runs ok revving RPM up and down. Foot on brake and put in drive and it slows - runs rough and stalls. fixed a bunch of vacuum leaks but no change.
any help with a direction would appreciated - Thanks

Any codes? Could be stuck open egr among many other possibilities. Maybe start with fuel pressure check, compression test? Put a couple bottles of chevron techron in the gas tank.
