94 F150 Removing the catalytic converter

Is there anyway for me to remove the cats and trick the computer to not collect that data but not run differently? I want to replace my headers and exhasut but dont want to keep the cats for fear of clogging but dont want the check engine light to be on. Any solutions?

Cats aren't monitored on a 94, that didn't start till 96 with OBD2. If you are concerned about them clogging, just gut them.

Like he said, there isn't a downstream sensor so it has no idea, but the AIR system might throw you a code depending how much of that your remove as well.

Running without catalytic converters is a violation of federal law.....not too bright posting your intentions to break the law on an
internet forum.

Cats don't generally clog if the motor's running even close to right. You can also get high flow cats and still pass an e-test.
You may not have to go get an e-test anymore where you live, but you still aren't allowed to remove them. So side of the road, cop's in an ugly mood, big fine, tow truck, impound, court date, etc., etc.
Free flow cats are cheaper and less inconvenient. Just sayin'.

Or gut them, nobody will be able to visually tell.

This is true. You are 100% correct. But... sooner or later we've all got to look around and maybe come to grips with the fact that they made the law for a good reason.
I know that my 20 year old truck emits a lot more crap than my wife's car. Personally I figure I should at least make sure it meets the 20 year old standards they set for it. At the very least.
Just sayin'. I don't expect everybody else to share that opinion, but for me personally, if I can't afford to buy a catalytic convertor or two to keep my truck operating within a reasonable emissions limit, then I shouldn't be driving a truck.
That's just a personal opinion, don't expect anyone else to pay any attention to it.
