1993 f150 302 rebuild
 

I was thinking that before I do any modifications to my truck ( lift/sas, body repair, audio, etc.. I should rebuild the 302 in my truck. It's got around 235,000 km( 146,000 mi) and I'm wondering if I should get standard size everything, including bearings, or if I should get something like 0.010 over sized bearings? Which do you guys and gals think would be best if I do rebuild the engine? Or should I scrap the idea of rebuilding my 302, and buy a cheap ($200 or less ) 351w and rebuild that for my truck?

Personally I would probably go with a 351 if I had to rebuild what I have in it now which is a 302 also. As far as the bearing sizes go, the machine shop that you take your stuff to will tell you what you need to buy for your motor.

I agree, I would go with the 351.

Until there's a reason to rebuild or replace it, just MAINTAIN it. When you catch up on the maintenance that the previous owner undoubtedly neglected, you'll probably feel a lot LESS desire to "upgrade". My engine has over 650Kmi with NO REBUILD, and I can still set the cruise above 100mph, even pushing my HEAVY truck.

To find out the overall condition of an engine, there are a few quick, easy, cheap tests that you can do. But you'll have to do some research & reading to learn how to INTERPRET the oil pressure & vacuum test results. This chart's caption explains how to interpret compression, and it links to some vacuum info:

Yeah I've decided not to rebuild the engine. Got other stuff to spend the money on instead of rebuilding the not that high mileage engine. Like every single bushing being pretty much non existent, tie rod ends that have an inch of play side to side, original shocks, no ignition lock cylinder, door lock cylinders, two broken leaves, and every u joint needing replaced.

But when the engine does need to be replaced I still have a rebuilt 351w sitting in my grandmas back yard.

146K miles are just getting broke in :)

I'm wanting to know if a 5.0 out of 1990 Lincoln will fit in 1995 F 150 swb with 5.0.

Any 302 will "fit", but they have different cams and firing orders. The 95/96 trucks used the 302HO/351W firing order.

Yeah, like glc said, she'll be a dog off the line with that car cam in it. You'd want to swap in the truck HO cam - that would give you the right firing order and the lower end torque you need for a truck.
