1990 Ford F150 351 Cleveland
Good afternoon!
Sorry if this is the inappropriate forum but I'm interested in buying this 1990 F150 with a 351 Cleveland.

It's got great mileage for the year, my favorite body style of any f150, and I'd like to use it as a project to learn how to do my own maintenance. Is this a good fit? Are there any glaring issues I should know about?
Thanks

The 351C was offered in 70-74 cars, but no trucks. The 351M was used from 75-82, 77-82 in trucks. Any 351/5.8 after 1982 would have been a Windsor. The C and M even had a different bellhousing bolt pattern (335) and would not bolt to a 1990 (Windsor) transmission.
So - either that truck has a standard 351W or it's got a swapped Cleveland (or 351M) with an old non-overdrive transmission.

The 351C has the same SBF bellhousing as the 289-351W. Its the 351M/400 that shares the big 429/460 bellhousing
