Exclamation Amsoil and oil guys i nees your help!

I just bought the Eao15 oil filter and oil. I wanted to buy from a dealer but that disnt work out. Any ways I took off my motorcraft FL1A and noticed how much SMALLER those holes are on the eao15 I almoat started to go get a motor craft. Look on google and compare the two and notice the difference I don't think ill ever buy one of those filters again after paying 19 bucks for it you'd think they would be bigger... mostly concerned that there wont be enough flow at WOT compared to the FL1A. What's your opinion

I am extremely pissed as you know my enginr is brand new and lots of goodies I'm surr now my bearings are bad becaude it will knock for 10 seconds after start it that is bull I paid 19 bucks for that junk I'm throwing it away and putting on an fl1a

Have you seen how small the inlet holes are?

Amsoil wants the filter back for restriction testing. This is great there goes a quart of brand new oil.

Not a thing other than FL1995, FL820S, FL1A, or FL2016 Motorcraft filters go on my Fords.

Adrianspeeder

I was hesitant to put thay eao filter on when a dealer recommended it. I've alwaus had FL1As on my truck I mean 4 bucks for the best filter out there! I regret ordering that stupid "nanofiber" "high flow" bull crap on here! Now my 15 thousand dollar engines bottom end is probably gone

Amsoil has very good insurance for this type of claim.

Couldn't be because the engine is highly modified and raced, could it? They will be able to tell after teardown.

I sure hope so.

The rotating assembly on this enginr alone cost 2 grand its forged it ought to be able handle some abuse... plus it was only raced maybe 10% of its life...I've talked to some people they say don't send the filter in and hire an engineer

Here's what ya do. DO NOT send the filter to Amsoil. Keep it in a plastic bag so that it doesn't pick up dust, dirt, contaminates. Stand it somewhere where it can sit with the bottom down, holes up. Next, drain the oil into a CLEAN container making sure the oil is at least warm. Take a sample mid stream of its draining. Send it to any of the labs and you're going to ask for an oil analysis AND a Ferrography test. Make sure to send a letter along with it noting the engine, what you've done to it, how many miles, and what your concerns are. The analysis will give you a general idea of what is happening in the engine but the Ferrography will tell you exactly what wear metals are in the oil and they should give you a report stating from which parts the metals are from. They'll be able to compare your engine with similar parts/mileage and let you know if the particle counts are out of line. Depending on what you get back will depend on what you need to do next, if anything. You can put the oil back in the engine after getting your sample. If you don't know of a lab, most CAT dealers have labs or there's always Blackstone. In my experience with a bunch of 5.0s like yours, I've never heard one that I thought was quiet. They all sound like they have a slight rod knock even on a fresh rebuild so don't think it's trashed.....yet. Expect the testing to run ya about $100.00-$150.00 dollars. If it shows it's okay, you KNOW that nothing was hurt. If it shows up as damaged, you have it from a certified lab that damage has occurred and Amsoil MUST pay up or expect to lose in a lawsuit.
Oil analysis is a test for the oil
Ferrography is an analysis for the actual wear metals in the oil.
