Oil Gauge '90 Ford 5.8

I am having a possible oil gauge situation where my oil pressure is starting to rise. It is not spiking yet but getting completely on the "L" of NORMAL. My truck seems to be running ok. I did get an overdue oil change 2 Fridays ago and they mentioned I have a leak (they thought valve cover but unsure). Could all of this be related or am I being over cautious? I am not mechanic by any means but I can tinker under the hood so any help is appreciated!
