1994 F 150 Wipers always on!
Hey,
Ive got a 1994 f-150 with wiper issues. Used work truck that ive had for 2 years. Thought i'd spiff it up and get everything in working order. Wipers had the problem of coming on when i intended to use the turn signal, or not turning off after i started to use them.
Thought the prob was the MFS, so replaced it. Now, when the truck is on, the wipers AND the wiper fluid will not turn off. Constantly on.
Have replaced the harness and checked the relays. Doesnt help.
Went to check the GEM and its not there...?! Really, no GEM anywhere in the truck. Ive heard of being able to bypass it for somethings, but could somebody have done this for all of it?
Like i said, this is a used truck that i got about 2 years ago. Person before me installed a CB radio and unhooked the airbag diagnostic controll (beeped all the time).
Any thoughts? Answers? Ideas?
Thanks,
J

GEM???
Don't know that acronym.
Trace the wire from the MFS switch to the wiper motor. That sounds like it's where the problem lies. Farting around with the airbag circuitry is just a plain, stupid, dangerous idea. It could also be a source of the problem.
A malfunction within the Interval Governor could be another likely cause.
