04 dash in 96 f150 n dont say it cant b done :)

Hi guys im new to this site but not to the f150s i really like the site it seems like a very good community of ford owners and hope everyone gets along well.. so for my first question... i have searched but cannot find.. i have a 94 351w f150 4x4 single cab i would like to pull my dash out and put the 04 to 08 in place .. i really dont like the stock dash and theres a few broken mounts on it.. i can fab up the backets ect to put one in but i need to know the measurements to see if there even close if someone could help me outt also im not worried about the radio or any of that im just wondering if all the speedo/tach ect will work if i just wire them in to where the stock ones were thanks

isnt the cab width different? and you might as well swap the whole interior... the new dash will be faded different than the interior in your pickup. im sure it can be done, but it will look odd and misplaced. some of the gauges should work, not sure about the speedo, and tach.

Thanks for the reply.. yea thats wat im wondering about the width .. i have van captains chairs in there now but wen i do it il definatly put the whole interior in.. im gunna get some measurements tonight on the dash too see if it will even be close.. if it is close i will try my luck at fitting it to my extra cab.. and if it looks ok il swap it into mine i just like the look of it and there arnt very many options for custom dashes in the 96 f150s thanks

The cab widths are 78.9" for the 04 and 79" on the 96 soo the cabs are almost the same in width just hope the dash is close

Did you ever get this done? I want to do the same thing with my 95 F150.

I still shake my head at it, but it is yer truck. Anyway, I've seen a '79 Bronco get a full dash and drivetrain swap, so I'd imagine it can be done.

anything can be done, its just the man doing it needs to either be really good, or really lucky...
