302 F150 with 35's?
i have found a few VERY clean F150's, but they both have 6" lifts, 35's and 302's. i was really looking for a 351 and 33's. im worried that the 35's are a bit much, especially with stock gears on a 302. and i know its a truck, but im sure a 302 pushing 35's will be the worst mileage imaginable. aleast the 35q hs the extra power for them. how do yall feel? and what kind of mileage are you getting with 33's and 35's? on my 92' 302 with 33's it seemed like i got around 12mpg

the will push em no problem but id regear. we had a 94 300 i6 m5 4x4 9 inch lift 39 irocks with 4.56s drove perfect

351 with 35s = 8mpg.
https://www.supermotors.net/getfile/...llsize/021.jpg 302 with 33s = 10-12 https://www.supermotors.net/getfile/...e/img_0505.jpg I wouldn't do bigger than 33s with a 302. Just doesn't have the torque to hold OD on the highway with stock gears. Adrianspeeder |
now im a ford guy but i also like mopar. i had a 96 dodge 1500 i put 3/4 ton rears 35/12.5 tires stock gears with a 318 v8 from a stand still with out breaks shed spin tires on a dry road about 40 ft and i could be goin 30mph stomp on it and spinn em up on a dry road. i got 12 to 14 mpg motor was stock except for the exhaust and intake

i was hoping you'd chime in Adrian. yeah, i really was weary of the 35's and the 302, so i'm going to stay away. its sad, the truck is so clean otherwise. i've found a clean stock 93' 351 that i am looking at as well, will probably throw some 33's on it and call it a day

and with the 5.4 and 33's i could get 16-18 on the highway. wish the 351 could manage that. hopefully with a ignition advance, e-fan and a few other tweaks i can manage a little better
|
If it is really that clean, but it and trade the tires.
There are always people looking to trade 33's for 35's and vice versa. Last two fill ups I got 20 and 23 with my I6 and 31's I think 33's may be in the near future. |

I wouldn't chase the mileage too much. Have fun, run er hard, and be proud of your carbon footprint. Adrianspeeder |

You are never going to move as much air with an electric fan setup vs a clutch and mechanical fan. Plus they don't fail except for a two minute belt change.

Adrianspeeder and i've ruled out the 302's. one guy wants a bit more than im looking to spend, and the other is a bit far for me, unless he adjusts his price a little bit. here is my favorite, another very clean truck. and the fact that it hasn't been molested and modded gives me a bit more confidence in it http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/cto/2789660829.html 33's, some intake/exhaust work, ignition and fan and i would be done |
