4x4 cracking when making a tight turn

My 1996 ford f-150 makes a bad cracking and grinding sound when making a tight turn, i know its normal for the truck to have resistance when making the turn, but it cracks and sounds TERRIBLE!! what could this be i have no idea

Are you trying to make tight turns in 4wd?

no, but i was making some tight turns to see what was going on, and it sounds really bad on a left turn. and when doing a normal turn once the truck straightens out after shifting gears it sort of jerks and makes a little pop and theirs always a weird skipping sound coming from the front tires while driving straight in 4x4, 4LO feels fine??

Sounds like at least one of the hubs is locked, and its u-joint is bad. Read this caption:
