trying to lope my 95 f-150 4.9l efi
i am wanting to get a good loping sound and i heard that a 280 cam from cliffords performance.com is good for that. but i also want to kno what i would need to get the computer to not try and fix the problem with it loping at idle speeds. HELP PLEASE!!!

Only problem I see is that it may run lean since raw fuel will be let out into the exhaust and the o2 sensors will think its running rich

the only way i could figure is get a custom tune on the computer or get rid of the dredded efi. plus for a daily driver/ tow vehical u dont need it the cams are made for runnin high rpm whats the highes a 4.9 revs 3500 4000 max i never rev mine past 2500

This is like asking how to get a ricer to sound like a diesel, or how to make a school bus handle like a Pagani. If you want that sound, install a big stereo & play a recording of that noise. Or buy a V8 vehicle, and screw it up so it runs like that. But a straight six won't do it - it's not built that way.

...and a 280 cam, anybody's 280 cam, is way too big for a stock or near stock engine and too big for the street.
|
thanks guys for the input on that. i am new to electronic junk. id rather have a carb any day. never hurts to ask..
|
It's not the EFI or the computer - it's the fact that it's a straight 6 - they just won't lope unless you pull a couple plug wires.

I didnt even catch that it was a 6, so yeah you can get it to "lope" but it wont sound like a v8 loping
