Angry 86 F150 5.0 Liter cant give it gas

My 86 F150 5.0 with fuel injection runs ok for about 5 minutes, and then all of a sudden i step down on the gas and it dies. I come off the gas and it idles fine. I just had to drive home about 3 miles this morning idling, because as soon as I gave it gas it dies. I replaced the IAC a few months ago, other than that havent done anything major to it in some time. Anyone have any ideas?

Thought about fuel filter, didnt think about cat converter. I should just get rid of that. truck doesnt need emissions here anymore. Any idea how painful changing the filter is?

Depends on the style, mine just happened to be the early style and I didn't even need a tool to do it, just pull clips and the filter is off.
I'm betting yours is going to require a tool.

With his being an 86, I thought it said 96 the first time, I'll bet you don't need a tool.
