1965 F150 Help

I like the 65 f150 body style but I know I wont find the truck/dont want the full truck. I am hoping to find that style body in a junk yard some where. The part that I need help with is that I want it to end up as a lifted diesel truck. Will the body fit on the base of another truck. If so around what year. The second question I have is the title, is it still registered as what the base truck was? Anything will help thanks.

You can pretty much fabricate the body to most any frame, even an F250 frame. But if you want a bolt on, you'll have to stay with the same frame rail spacing. I believe they changed in 1979 or 1981- one of them. But you won't find a frame in the early years that's going to hold a diesel. Diesel engines have a lot of harmonics and frame fractures are common for those not smart enough to know that diesel frames are made from different steels than a gas engine. Might see if you can find an old F250 about the 1983-1986 models. The frame is clearly marked at the drivers rear wheel 6.9 only. That's a diesel frame. You should be able to fabricate the body on the frame. You'll probably have to fabricate the steering too but if you can find one with a body still on it, you can use it for donor parts like the steering.
The title will have to be for the frame. The body is irrelevant.
