any one ever? 1997 FRONT SEAT 60/40 INA 84? WILL IT WORK?

I have just ran across a 60/40 power seat form a 1997 f-150 that I would like to consider installing in my 84? Has anyone ever done this mod. Could / would you do this upgrade? Can this upgrade be done with minimal modifications to the seat or floor pan to make it work? thanks in advance!

I have seen this done on a bronco before, not sure why it would not work on your f150.

Thank you for the reply, I finally got a hold of my neighbor whom owns a 95 he is going to let me play with his truck for a few hours tomorrow while he sleeps between his 2 jobs to let me take some measurements and see what I come up with!!

The donor is a great looking 1997 F-150 extended cab 4X4 model green with tan interior! I an getting a great trade for the seats!! a tree stand valued at about $45.oo bucks I will be trading for the seats!! Power drivers side, 60/40 split seat with flop down center console, can't wait!

Hey how did this swap go? I have a 92 F150 ext cab, I am in the hunt for some newer seats, and like you have my targets set on a front 60/40 and rear bench from a 97....was going to take some measurements tomorrow to see what alignment it may need. What mods did you need to do to the floorpan, if any, to get this to work?

Most automotive seats are designed around the same ergonomic ideal of a human, so they're all basically interchangeable. Some have very odd integrated bases, but most can be separated from the base & attached to the base that fits your floor, or you can build a custom base IF YOU REMEMBER that the chair is part of the restraint system, and it has to stay in-place during a wreck or roll.
