dropping an oil pan from a 92 f150 4.9 2wd
So I plan on switching out the old to a new one. I've gotten about half of the bolts out already, and I've come to where the front axle/cross member? sort of blocks the rest of the pan. Now I have the right sockets to get in the tight space, just wondering if I would save my self the pain by loosening the mounts and pulling the engine up a bit to have some more room. I wanna just suck it up and get in there with a socket extension if possible, any help appreciated!

When I was younger I helped my dad change an oil pump on his 93 F150 4X4. We undid the motor mounts and jacked up the engine. If I remember right it was enough to drop the pan and get our hands in the oil pan and undo the oil pump pick up, then we were able to pull the pan out. It was an inline six engine.
Hope this helps you, Clint
