Make sure it's lined up right before you go and slam it shut. Just get the bolts snug, not tight. Then when it's all lined up correctly tighten the bolts down.

Probably one of those jobs that would be easiest with a couple of friends... outline the hinge against the hood with one of those sharpie markers (if you are going to replace the hood, otherwise disregard) Then have them support each side, while you slowly back out the back two bolts on each side. Then remove the front bolts, so they can support the weight. they're heavier than they look (like the doors).

Ok, I am cleaning up the posts in this thread. No more thread crapping. Especially you, bigun72. There is no such thing as a question that should not be asked, if a person is needing advice with their truck. That is what we are here for. From your responses, it might be construed that YOU don't know the answer and are just blowing hot air. Just answer the question or move on to another thread.

Bluejay you are funny I dont know who you are and dont really care....To remove a hood you take the 4 bolts out and remove the hood then go right back in the reverse order...its pretty straight forward.....how bout you chill out.

Just so you know, I stay pretty chilled out, but it happens to be my job to see that people get treated fairly on this site, and it does ruffle me a bit when a relatively new member gets treated rudely. True, removing and replacing a hood is pretty straight forward, but I doubt a girl would come in here asking if she did not sincerely want to know. I guess she could be a troll, trying to stir up trouble, but I doubt that at this point.

Oh, just so you know, too, I stay pretty chilled till someone starts telling me to chill out.
