pictures of my truck I just got

Hey guys

Heres my truck I bought, 1995 ford f150 supercab with the 351 4x4 w/LS 163,000 km on her as of today just a tad over 101,000 miles. Stole her for $2000 as is, great truck for the **** *** roads up here in north east Alberta.

Trucks in pretty good shape, has a new bedliner in there too which looks real sharp. Just some Rust on the rear above the wheels, not sure what im going to do there nor if im going to do anything.

Still trying to track down a chrome peice to replace the missing one on the driver side door.

Also while im starting a thread, for exhaust lot of guys round here are telling me to do 3" Y piped all the way out cutting out muffler and cats

but I really dont wan't her to loud...I don't want to give the cops an excuse to pull me over, looking for something to had some snarl and definitly some loud when I get on er, but with out breakin the bank as it is an old truck don't want to spend a pile...thinkin' just changing out the muffler for a magnaflow

opinions, comments??

Dan.

Looks good for 2K. Where did you find it? Ebay, Craigslist, etc.

is there a specific system you'd prefer?(flowmaster, dynomax, magnaflow, etc) and do you want a si/do muffler? or si/so?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7E0ExekmWA this truck has a flowmaster 50 series
IMO flowmaster is the best sounding but they restrict a little bit of performance.

I've only had magnaflow on one vehicle, and liked the sound perhaps too quiet though...had it on a 98 durango with the 5.2 liter

I have no prefrence though, cool with trying anything, and SI/SO would prolly be fine by me, kinda like a direct replacment

is that your truck in the youtube vid??

I did find this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzCtbs6Ykxc
when buying a muffler how do i determine the length I want, just measure mine up and get a direct replacement, or shorter longer etc...easy to fill in the void just assuming different lengths affect sound too

pic of my durango which I just sold because of gettin the truck

no that truck isnt mine. i dont have a video worth a damn to show how it really sounds. i'd just get whatever muffler you want and use a piece of pipe to connect it. i think the muffler is center inlet offset outlet? do you want it to be fairly loud or just to sound good and still be able to have a conversation while your driving?

sound good with some bark when I stomp on er and have a conversation (too much to ask for? lol) mostly cause I don't need a headache from cops...they are handin out some $300 tickets for exhaust noise nowdays

Leave the cat's, they are fine. Right off the rear cat you can sawzaw off and put on any muffler you want mentioned above. Flowmaster 44 I used for the first time on the last job I did for my '79 dually, and it's what I'll use next time prolly again. Personally not a fan of the model 40.

Handy thing to do for snow country I like is to then turn out the exhaust before the rear axle. Gets a lot less slush packed onto it, and no issues backin' hard into a snow bank.

You can order replacement panels for cheap from lmctruck.com and try your hand at some body work, or drop it off for an afternoon to have it taken care of. It's a sharp lookin' truck, I'd get it fixed.

My buddy solved the rust problem with some chrome fender flares.
