Speed Sensor

I have already replaced the rear wheel abs sensor, the speed sensor to ecu located on the side of the transmission and now I need to replace the vehicle speed sensor to speedometer. Where is it located? This is a photo of it.

The Vehicle speed Sensor is the same device as the Rear Anti-lock Brake Sensor. One part performs both functions.

You do not have the part in the photo on a 1994 F150.
As StrangeRanger said the rear end sensor is your speed sensor (VSS/ABS).
The one on the transmission is the Output shaft speed sensor (OSS) and is not used for speed of the truck and only goes to the PCM for shift scheduling.

'94-96 w/5.0L MAF & 4R70W has a VSS(OSS) ******* in addition to the ABS sensor on the rear diff.

But they rarely go bad, so I doubt either needs to be replaced.

You're right - it's not the style shown in the 1st post. But it does exist, which was my point.

I know this is a really late reply to the situation, but after years of playing with the same problem posted above and my speedometer still reading, I found that the problem was not the VSS sending unit or the line, but instead it was the PSOM (promable speed/Odometer Module) in the back of the cluster that attatches to the speedometer. It causes bad shifts and reed codes that say bad VSS despite still have a good speed read. The reason is that the PSOM throws bad information to the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) saying that the VSS isn't sending. This will cause the PCM to send bad information to the transmission. Good Luck to any who have this problem as a replacement cluster is Over $300 at the dealer or $ 35 and up on e-bay, or around $150 at DNA Speedometers Inc. I am sending mine in, as the 1994 Lightning replacement I found isn't working out, though it did solve my shifting and code problems.
