92 f150 tranny question.

i have a 92 f150 with the 351 windsor and automatic tranny. i recently started hearing a squeaking noise coming from underneath the truck when i am accelerating. if i let off the accelerator while the truck is still rolling the squeak stops. if the truck is in park and i rev up the engine, i hear no squeak. i wanted to check the tranny fluid level to see if was low but i can't find a dip stick for it anywhere. is the transmission sealed or something? if not, does any one know where to locate the dip stick to check my fluid levels?

do you have an e40d or c6? dipstick ishould be on passenger side of engine compartment next to exhaust manifold. sounds like you may have a bad or dry u joint.

It's either a E4OD or 4R70W.

E4OD. Impossible to be a C6 or 4R70w unless swapped in.

Trans is fine, you have a dry u joint squeaking.

you guys were right about the u joint, it was the rear one going bad. it took $16.99 and about an hour of my time. not too bad. thanks for pointing me in the right direction. my dipstick was being covered up by a piece of that silver insulation stuff on the firewall.
