Question What front springs do I need?

91 f150 4x4 300i6. When I got it the front end sagged terrible, 5-7deg. neg camber. Put new front coils in and in a month it was just as bad. I got a set of those spring jacker things and raised the front end up to 1/2deg. neg. camber on both sides but now the front end is basically solid. The truck sets level. The tires stand straight up and are wearing pretty good too but the ride is so stiff I can't stand it.
I'll buy one more set of springs but I want to make sure I get the correct ones. Can someone help?

Thanks
Wayne

2 or 4 wheel drive? are you looking to make sure the truck sits level? i put a set of 2" skyjacker lift springs in the front of mine(93 f150 4x4) because it sat low, it now sits 1 1/2" lower in the front than the rear vs. the close to 4" lower before the springs. a truck just like mine parked next to me the other day and it is a real big difference. a couple people have even asked how hard it is to do so they can do them too. i think it looks and rides good. if you go this route then you'll need an alignment.

I agree with leveling coils. Or, if you want to keep the factory rake, a set of good stock replacements. I would reccommed Moog in that department. I for one love my Rancho leveling coils.

If you're shopping the junkyards, look for the newest truck you can find ('80-96) with the same FGAWR as yours, or slightly higher.

Question

My local auto parts sells Moog springs and are great on price. Does anyone know the Moog # for the springs that are 2" taller then stock? I looked in their catalog and the closest I could find is almost 3" taller free height. Am I looking for free height or installed height? Thanks......Wayne

nope. at least i didnt need anything special. i simply:
lifted the truck off the ground
put jack stand under the axle arms and just set them on the stands(did one side at a time)
pulled the tires
pulled my calipers off
pulled the shocks off
pulled the top retainer and lifted the truck off the stand a little bit then knocked the spring off the top retainer with a hammer
took off the lower retainer nut
pulled the spring out
set new spring in lower retainer and started the nut
used prybar and pryed the axle arm down enough to stick the spring in the top retainer.
then lowered it onto the stand to put pressure onto the spring to push it into the retainer better.
then put the top retainer in and tightened the top and bottom retainers. then put it back together.

need alignment afterwards.

and i was able to use the stock shocks. but i broke both of mine on the driver side(factory quadshock setup) but i just got stock replacements.

The shocks HAD to come off at some point - they prevent the axle beams from drooping enough to spit out the springs.
