anyone tried one of these obd1 code readers?

i know the truck is throwing atleast a few codes...and i know i could do the flashing light method, but i don't want to count, i'd rather let technology do the work :banana: so, anyone used one of these? seems like a good price!!:beers:

Yeah, used them for about 10 years....maybe not the exact same model, but does the same thing. Then the full scanners came out and you could not only scan and change programming and pull codes for OBD II but pull codes for ODB I also with all the attchments for Chevy, Chrysler and imports too.

I have the same one. Works really good but have to keep the book handy.

I've always done it the counting way, but for 30bucks, dang I'm ordering right now.

Not bad - I paid $25 for a GM OBD1 tool at O'Reillys - and it's just a glorified paper clip. You still have to count CEL flashes.

The Actron scanner is just the paperclip method in a convenient box Count flashes, look in the book.

That Equus looks nice though - with the digital readout.
