Bosch Platinum spark plugs in 91 f150

Hey all, i wanted to put some Bosch plugs into my 1991 f150 lxt lariat 2wd w/ i6 300 but when i went to purchase them the guy at Nappa said they dont stock them, this got me thinking. Can i even run platinum's in my truck or is it incompatible or something. If it is whats the best plug you guys recommend? Ive been noticing its been doing a wired engine shake every few seconds, so i replaced my crankcase air filter and the engine air filter but it still persists. My next move would be the plugs, then the injectors. Any input?

Thanks!
-Aaron

bosch plugs are no good really, at least with my experience get, champion crossfires or something. But if your stuck on the bosch plugs they do make them for your truck, how bads the motor shaking could be a motor mount or bad fuel filter?

well i couldn't find any platinum series that would work in mine. As for the fuel filter its new as of july 2007. The shake isn't horrible its just like its tripping a little bit, at certain rpm's its more noticeable than others.

I wouldn't put Bosch platinums in anything really. They seem to have a high failure rate, and even worse in waste spark systems. I haven't and won't even run then in any vehicle we own.

The trucks aren't picky on plugs, and conventional plugs work fine. I ran both Autolite and Champion platinums when doing some testing with my ignition system, but neither ran better than a conventional copper plug.

To be honest I forget what's in there now!

Considering how easy it is to get at the plugs on a I6, I'd use conventional copper plugs in it and change them about every 25k.

I just use the Autolite Copper from Wal-Mart and change/check them about every 20K miles or so (probably sooner than that).

Your engine actually doesn't like platinum plugs. I always had the best luck with Champion Truck Plugs, but I'm not even sure if they're still available.
