need help with code 578
 

This is on a 1994 f150 5.0 4x4
Ok I have a code 538 not 578 that was a miss type in the hanes manual it says
"Invaled cylinder balance caused by cid sensor circuit fault"
what is this never heard of it and they could not find anything at the auto parts store on it either.

Where are you getting that definition? It's not correct.

"538 (R) Insufficient RPM change (operator error) during Dynamic Response Check "

Read this whole thread and the linked code list.

The book with my Actron reader shows either of the above as causes for the code.

On my truck if you don't do the WOT burst at the perfect time it will throw the code every time. The margin of error is next to nothing. Even when I did it without drinking beer first. :lol:
