in my 93 they are 6.5" round in the doors and 5x7 (6x8 works too) behind the seat

Be careful with the rear speakers. Some aftermarket speakers are deeper than the OEM speakers and can dent your cab from the inside out. Fashion spacers out of something if you have a problem with clearance.

And these speaker sizes, are they subject to change between reg cab and ext. cab?

Also make sure the mounting screws aren't too long for the rear speakers. Most screws that come with aftermarket speakers are too long, and while the speakers may fit fine without a spacer, the screws can make little dents from the inside out when they are tightened.

Yeah, you need to watch out for that. I did that without even knowing until I noticed a small bump and a crack in the paint in that area after redoing my stereo.

Go to www.crutchfield.com and look your truck up. It will tell you exactly what sizes should fit.
