That's why your bearings are toasted. Did you look at those diagrams & specs in their captions?

I know this thread is a little old but I must give thanks where it is due. I had the same problem with my 89. The diagram of the compresser and clutch really helped alot :thumbsup:. It was the bearing in the clutch that was toasted and making all the nosie. Switched it up with a new one and then figured out that the bearings in my compresser are sezied :mad: which killed the truck everytime I tried to put the A/C on. So I'm going the cheap way and just took the hub off and disconnected the plug for the A/C, it'll have to do for now. With summer just around the corner I'll just drive a little faster with all the windows down :rocker:
