Surge??????

I have a 94 f150 with a 5.8l and on slow starts I get a surge feel. The throttle is steady but it feels like the engine surges, any thoughts on what it could be?

I'd look for vacuum leaks.

Any CEL?

Will cleaners such as Seafoam do a good job or is there a better way to clean the injectors?

IMO, Seafoam is the best thing since sliced bread. If you want your truck running it's best, put a half can in each tank, and add another can through the intake.

I would check the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). I have seen a ton of these go bad with the same symptoms you just described. The TPS is a potentiameter and they develop bad spots in them. So the resistance will either fall or rise greatly in certain spots instead of gradually. Usually, just off idle. This creates the surge you are feeling. If you accelerate harder, it won't do it because you push past the bad spot in the sensor with the throttle pedal. Hope this helps.

How do you add it through the intake?

Disconnect the vacuum hose going to the brake power booster, start the engine, and stick the hose into the can until it sucks all the Seafoam out. It will stall the engine, so you'll want to have someone else to play with the throttle to keep it from stalling. Once the can is empty, kill the engine, and let it sit for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, restart it, but be forewarned; it will smoke like a **** for 5-10 minutes.

There are instructions on the can, but they say to let it soak for 5 minutes, which really isn't long enough. 30 minutes works much better.
