anyone have a clue? I drove a 93 f250 at a job a couple years ago and water hit the cat underneath, suddenly had an exhuast leak.

Now my 91 5.0 with 177k on it just had the same thing last week happen, dont think it was wet out though, it sounds like a loud hissing sound under the hood when i give it a lot of gas. I have a MIG welder so i can spot weld the spot for the mean time and ill even get new cats/pipes or whatever for the exhaust if somethings rusted out. Thanks

 

Are you sure it's an exhaust leak? I wouldn't be too sure especially if it's coming from the engine compartment, anything could make a hissing noise in there. That could be from the intake or just about anything, i believe mine does the same thing when i give it alot of gas. Exhaust leaks usually make a clicking sound or something along those lines.
