95 turn signal/wiper arm loose

the turn signal/wiper arm on my 95 XLT seems a little loose. turn signal portion works fine but wipers seem to work when they want to when in intermittent mode. slow intermittent means almost never, i mean like minutes later, sometimes works, sometimes not. it's like the switch is dirty or loose. is it difficult to pull apart and clean/service/tighten? can it be removed without pulling the steering wheel? help, thanks.

If it was one of my customers, I'd tell them to replace the multifunction switch, but for my own truck, which I don't have to warranty, I sprayed some QD (Quick Dry) Electrical Cleaner into end, and worked the wiper delay switch back and forth several times. Worked well for 2 years, but now either needs to be cleaned again, or replaced. Since you said your's is "loose", I'd replace it.
