350 Dually 4X4 Questions

Started a previous thread about 4X4, now I need to know something else.

What year did Ford stop using carbs in the 350s?

I'm thinking a carburated model would be easier for me to maintain on the Models I'm looking at. Although a Throttle body would be just as easy, I guess.

Just don't want to mess with a bunch of fuel injectors on a work truck...

Just looking for a Farm truck to work. How new a model can I get for $8k.

What years should I be looking at??

thanks guys, got approved by the bank and I have 60 days to find one.

I believe 1987 was the last year they used a carb.

You could get a pretty nice truck for 8k. I know one of my friends just bought a '97 F-150 4x4 extended cab shortbed with either the 5.4 or the 4.6 for 7500, and he says he saw similar prices looking around for them. I think you could even get one of the 97+ body style 250s for that.

Of course, if you're just looking for a work truck, then a mid-eighties 250 4x4 with the 460 is only blue-booked at about $1800.

Ford never made a 350, they did make a 351, I'm gussing 85 was the start of flue injection, not 100%...Good luck finding a oldie in good shape, they were more truck back than. No need to remove the coil on plug....

That's an F350 (i.e. a one ton and a 4x4 dually in this case) that he's asking about, not an engine size.
