1987 F150 302 - Wont start, fuel selector valve?
Hi, my 1987 F150 302 w/ dual tanks will not start. Im almost positive it's a fuel related issue. Ive replaced the fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator. When you turn the key to the on position the fuel pump won't stop priming. It has dual tanks and neither of the sending units have worked for quite some time. I suspect the "fuel tank selector valve", mabe? But cant find this part on autozone or checkers web sites etc.
Any input would be appreciated thanks btw all fuel pumps were replaced last year |

"SPRING LOCK FUEL LINE COUPLING MAY NOT BE PROPERLY ENGAGED.
Consequence: COUPLING COULD DISENGAGE DUE TO FUEL PRESSURE,VIBRATION, AND ENGINE MOVEMENTS; THIS WOULD CAUSE LOSS OF FUEL WHICH, INPRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, CREATES A FIRE RISK. Remedy: INSTALL RETAINER CLIPS OVER THE COUPLINGS TO PREVENT COUPLING SEPARATION AND FUEL LEAKAGE. Notes: SYSTEM: FUEL LINE COUPLINGVEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER CARS AND LIGHT TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH FUELINJECTION. " I dont think thats it. I would like some info on what my problem may be, or what I can do to troubleshoot. Any info on when the fuel selector valve fails? |
Thats definately not the problem, not sure what is.
