Front clip compatability
Hi folks. I have a 1986 F-150 and was wondering if anyone has changed thier front clip to a newer model... say 1995 or so. It looks like the body lines would line up, but what about bolt holes, the core support, and such. If that swap isn't possible, then what year would work, if any. I love my truck, I just think the `80-`86 front end is ugly. Thanks!

Blasphemy. I love the 86 front clip.
I don't know if this helps, but I was able to put an 86 E150 front clip on an 89 E150. IMO I would attempt it. |
I may be wrong, but I think the frames and mounting holes were the same until 95. Just a stab in the dark:)

Itll fit..... Make sure you use the entire 95ish nose, rad support and all. You can even bolt it all up in one shot. Just unbolt the fenders from the cab disconnect all wires and unbolt the front 2 body mounts.
The cowl panel is differnt too... Swap that out too. |
