Used K&N Cold Air Kit

I have a used K&N 57 Series FIPK #57-2556.
Its made for the 5.4 3v in the '04-08's.

I bought the kit used a few years ago and installed it on my '04 F150 Lariat that I totaled in 2012.
The original owner of the kit cut the main pipe about 8" in front of the throttle body "for some crazy reason".
I easily rejoined it back together with a coupling and clamps. It looks fine and looks like it came that way.I ran it for 5-6 years and probably 75,000 miles without an issue.
Its a black plastic pipe with a cleanable filter so there's really nothing that can go wrong with it.
I removed it after I totaled that truck and its been in my barn ever since.

I can email pics if interested. I also have some pics in my garage.

These still sell new for around $300 bucks but I'll take $75 plus shipping.

Can I see what it look like mainly where it was cut at?

pethel 08-02-2014 09:16 AM

Sure! I'll take a couple more close up pics. Unfortunately I just realized I'll have to wait to do that Monday morning. I took it to work yesterday to box it up for possible shipping. When I return Monday morning I'll do it first thing.
Thanks!

As promised I have added closer up pics of the kit. One is a close up of the mentioned cut pipe. Another of the cut pipe back together with a couplng and clamps. Like I said I ran it for years and tons of miles like this.
Note: I forgot to mention above that I ran short on couplings because I needed one to clamp up the cut area of the pipe. For that I used the coupling for the air filter and replaced it with one from my Mustang parts pile to use on the filter. It works fine but is somewhat "flexible". I have a pic of that too.

These are all in my Album: "My 05 Lariat 4x4" Here's a link. https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...ariat+4x4.html

This kit is reeeeal easy to install. Takes about 20-30 minutes. I will leave it intact as much as possible to go right back in. I'll also leave and label each part and all hardware in its locations "where it goes". Also there are installation instructions with pics on K&N's website.
