Xcal 2 (Troyer tuned) $150 shipped OBO

I have an Xcal 2 that has been Troyer tuned with 87 Performance, 93 Towing & 93 Performance.

I sold my truck recently and I returned the truck to stock configuration.

I had the tuner on my 05 Super Crew 5.4 liter for approximately 5 years. Loved it but had to sell the truck for financial reasons. Tuner is in good condition with original paperwork from Troyer.

My loss is your gain. I don't know how to post pics but I will email pics of the tuner if requested.

$150 shipped OBO

Paypal only please.

Edit: if interested please email me at treyzemail@yahoo.com

I don't get on here as often as I used to. I check my email often

Will the tunes work on any 5.4? Mine is an 05. Do the hex codes have to match like the gryphon?

It's been awhile but I vaguely remember having to give them some sort of code from my truck so that it would be tuned specifically for my truck. I don't remember what that code was or where it was from though

I had them for awhile but I guess I ended up deleting them. I do have some documents that they emailed to me though. Some sort of datalog excel spreadsheet and XCal 2 Live Link update stuff.

Forgive me for seeming really ignorant but I never did the datalogging on my truck, I just put the tunes on there and changed them when needed.

I no longer have the truck so I'm not sure how to go about finding what the hex code was.

Simple.

Call, or email TP. They keep all records purty much forever.

Keep that X2's serial number handy - they may need it. It's both on the back and accessible via the menu on the device if plugging into any Ford OBDII port.

Very unlikely ( but not impossible) that the tuning will be of any use ( or even load) on anyone else's truck - the full 7-digit strategy code needs to match.

I just looked on the sticker on the back of the tuner and it has my name then out beside it has RFV1 Custom. Not sure if that is some code or not.

I'll try to find out from Troyer.

Great - that's a good start - RFV1 is the PCM' box' code. There is a sticker on the PCM with this 4-character code on it.

So if Paul above had a look on his, it would indicate he's at least in the ballpark if thay matched. However, for every box code there may be several strategies - that's the rub. This would be another question for TP...

good luck

Yep.

It's an Obsolete , but still supported, SCT tuner - one of several models.

It'll work with yer truck provided you:

1. upgrade the device Firmware to support yer MY truck - v1.15, here: http://www.sctflash.com/showdeviceup...ID=9400&DTYPE=
2. order custom tunes for yer specific strategy code.

See siggie fer links to recommended SCT tuning shops to acquire thoes custom tunes ...

Hi sir.

Here's a good thread about this, from the Archives of Bubba https://www.f150online.com/forums/ch...stom-tune.html

Essentially:

1. Buy the unit. (and a good deal, it is <-- free, shamelees plug, lol)

2. Download/update firmware if required ( see linky in Post #10above).

3. Use the device to pull the strategy code for yer PCM - see the device manual - available on SCT's site as well.

4. Contact the SCT custom tuner of yer choice (my recommendations are in my siggie), give them the stratregy code, decide which tunes you wish to have,, which octane levels you want, tell 'em about any mods ( you may need to fill out some paperwork for all of these questions), pay up, and wait for the emailed tunes to arrive.

5. Install the tunes onto the device using the free software tools available on SCT's site.

6. Flash yer PCM.

7. Enjoy

PS - Mr. Tbizzle - sorry to load up this thread - I'll stop now, lol.
