Luck wasn't on my side

Well me and my roommate and one of our friends meet up and went out riding today. Going pretty good all the wash outs were dry so you could flex on them. Everything was going good until...................... Me and my stupid big truck couldn't squeeze between two mud holes and I slide one side of the truck into it. One of the nissans tried but no success. Lucky a angel with a F250 with a 12k winch came to my rescue. Here are some pictures and photos.

Damage: water in the cab :(

haha looks like fun man!

I know how that feels to get water in the cab, my truck smelled like a pond for like a month afterwards. I tried to shop vac as much of the water out of the carpet as possible but it was still damp. Times like that make ya wish you had a Jeep wrangler or something a little smaller.

03fx4F150,
I just got a set of Maxxis Buckshots a few weeks ago (couldn't fit the 305s, had to get 285s). I haven't had a chance to get offroad with them. How do they do? I saw the video you posted, but what is your overall impression of their traction offroad, compared to say an all terrain tire?

That juke padding under the carpet is what holds the water. Pull the carpet out and the juke out, hit both with clean water and alot of lysol then hang in the sun to dry for a couple days. Reinstall and you should be good.

Glad to see yall pulled from the back, looks like minimal damage was done. Offroading in a fullsize is tough, but looks like the For did well all things considered

Where was that at? I live in Gulfport.

that had to be the powerline in long beach..its definitely not hattiesburg. and yeah as far as the whole water in the cab thing, definitely pull the carpeting and padding out and rinse the fire out of them. then let them line dry for two or three days and go ahead and febreeze them...if you leave them in the truck they will never truly dry in time and will mildew fairly quickly, then your stuck trying to mask a smell of damp mildew that is going to be in your truck EVERY time you get in it. happened to me on the hattiesburg (lincoln rd) powerline last year in my tacoma when i sank it up to the hood out there. i didnt take the time to pull the carpeting and i was WAY worse off because of it.

well hate to say it bud but it was in hattiesburg. Yeah I am going to pull the carpet.

JBMX928 10-13-2007 08:45 AM

that sucks, at least you got out easy

03fx4F150 10-13-2007 01:28 PM

Yeah that winch made things easy. I didn't even have to press the gas I could have just put it in neautral and rolled.

south_ms_sprcru 10-22-2007 06:51 PM

what powerline was that on? i can only think of one spot on the licoln rd/richburg rd line that looks anything like that, but it has been forever since ive been on that powerline in the daylight. seems that everytime i get called to pull someone out its sometime between 2:00am and 4:00am...haha... if thats the spot im thinking of on the lincoln rd line then its exactly where i pulled a couple of trucks out of a few weeks back when i posted about the ford coming thru for me on this board...haha...that line has some sick holes that will absolutely swallow some vehicles..
