You heard wrong, it's on the passenger side. Follow the vacuum lines up from the hubs, can't miss it.

Nope

It's actually on the driver's side on the firewall behind the brake fluid reservoir. Up to 2008 it was on the passenger side. Replace the check valve below it first if you are having unintentional engagement.

I guess the factory service manual that I consulted is wrong, then.

Much appreciation for all your help guys! This thing was driving me up a wall. Thank you so much!

That's what we're here for. :)

Could be

2009 and 2010 are strange years for the F150. Like a redheaded step child. They had a strange mix of old and new.
2009 had the 5.4l with 6r80 transmission and mechanical fan with clutch.
2010 had the 5.4 with 6R80 transmissino and electric fans.
etc.
I saw many wrong parts listed for my 09 that were updated from 08. The 2010 trucks were evolving towards the 2011 5.0l updates too.
Maybe a mid-year change?

Wouldn't be the first time I've found errors in the factory manuals. I'll just add this one to the "list".

Cheers!
