07 f150 wheel bearing or cv joint bad?
My father in law has an 07 f150 4x4 with 5.4. Recently he noticed it making a dull grinding noise when turning. There is no clicking or popping, just a dull grinding that is very noticeable. Only makes the sounds when turning though. Would this be a cv joint going bad or a wheel bearing. what are some good ways to determine what it could be? thanks again for all the help

Sounds like it could be a hub. Has he grabbed the CV axle and checked it for excessive play?

When you do it also look real close between the flaps of the cv. Some people mistake a bad cv axle for a wheel bearing because they don't see the tears unless they take the cv axle off and fully extend it.
