Gears??? Brand??? Pricing???
I have a 4.6L 2006 regular cab 4x4 with a procomp stage 2 and 35" KM2's. Thinking about gears, maybe 4.56...
What brand is best for our trucks? How much am I looking at? Can I do this myself? I know that is a vague question but I am pretty mechanically inclined. Are they that complicated to install correctly? I know some pretty dumb people that install them for a living, I may be getting a little to brave on this one but considering it. Otherwise what am I looking at pricewise? What have you paid for gears and installation? |
i got yukon gears, i havent put them in yet, but ive heard good things about them. i paid around 650 for the gears and got quoted almost 1200 for install!!

Yukon gears from Randy's Ring and pinion, with install kits.....ya 4.56 will work for that tire size....
If yer not doing the install yerself consult yer local gear shop to see what they recomend or carry for a brand and see if they would install the parts you buy too........ |
Is it worth it to upgrade the gears? Looks like 16 to 1700 dollars to get this done. Is the extra power warranted for that much money???
